AppLovin ads agency for supplement and wellness brands
AppLovin puts supplement brands in front of people who buy consumables, reorder and sit through long video. Apt Digital is an official AppLovin Partner Agency that sets up, writes creative for and scales AppLovin campaigns for US supplement, gummy and wellness brands.
Why AppLovin fits supplement brands
AppLovin Ads opened to all businesses on 22 June 2026 and serves full-screen ads inside mobile games played by more than a billion people a day. For supplements the format matters more than the reach. A player watching a rewarded or between-level video gives the ad far longer than a feed scroll, which suits a product that needs explaining: what the ingredient is, why a gummy is easier to stick with, what a month of use looks like.
Supplements were one of the first ecommerce categories to work on the platform. In an AppLovin ecommerce update sent to beta advertisers, the top 15 nutritional supplement advertisers averaged a 4.63% click-through rate, and their typical ROAS goal sat around 50% because subscription lifetime value carried the economics. Fairing's post-purchase survey data for June to September 2025 ranked food, beverage and supplements first by share of customers crediting mobile game ads. Paleovalley, which is not an Apt client, told Modern Retail it raised its spend on the platform 550% over eight months.
- Repeat purchase: subscribe-and-save and multi-bottle bundles let you accept a thinner first-order ROAS than a one-off product could.
- Older buyers: Fairing's Q1 2025 data found users over 55 made up more than half of mobile game ad conversions, a good match for sleep, energy and healthy-aging lines.
- Easy price point: most supplement offers are a small enough decision to make straight after a 30 to 60 second video.
Supplement creative that works on AppLovin
AppLovin reviewed the top 1,000 web-advertiser videos by spend. 95% had prominent captions, 85% used voiceover and about 40% featured a promotion such as a discount, BOGO or free item. Treat those as the floor. The supplement leaders in AppLovin's beta data also ran volume, averaging 32 unique live videos and 10 end cards each.
- Founder or formulator explainer: first-person voiceover on why the formula exists and what is in it, 45 to 60 seconds long.
- Routine video: a morning or bedtime routine with the gummy as one step, which shows use without promising an outcome.
- Group callouts that name a life stage or age bracket, used in about 30% of AppLovin's top videos.
- Ingredient lists in a '3 reasons we chose this form of magnesium' structure, with on-screen text for sound-off viewers.
- Taste and texture close-ups for gummies, chewed on camera, since flavor is a real buying reason.
- Offer end cards: subscribe-and-save price, first-order code or a free bottle on bundles, using evergreen codes where possible.
Compliance notes for supplement ads on AppLovin
Supplements fall under AppLovin's restricted health, wellness and pharmaceutical policy, last updated 27 February 2026. Most of it mirrors what you already follow elsewhere, but two points catch brands out: the ban on second-person health language and the disclaimer requirement.
- No medical claims. Ads may not say a product prevents, cures or treats anything, or that it works as well as an FDA-approved product.
- Carry the FDA disclaimer ('These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration') in the ad or on the landing page.
- Do not assert or imply the viewer's health status. AppLovin names 'you' and 'your' as a risk, so a line like 'your joint pain' should become a statement about the product or a third person.
- No unrealistic weight-loss claims, and no before-and-after imagery showing unlikely or extreme results.
- No targeting of anyone under 18.
- Testimonials need support. The FTC's health products guidance says testimonials must reflect results buyers can generally expect, and a 'results not typical' line does not fix that.
How Apt runs AppLovin for supplement brands
Setup takes a few days. We install the AppLovin pixel through the Shopify app, confirm purchase and value events, then launch the structure AppLovin's onboarding guide recommends: one cost-per-purchaser campaign and one ROAS campaign at about $500 a day each, with five or six creative sets. For subscription brands we agree the first-order ROAS goal with you before launch, knowing reorders arrive later.
Every script goes through the claims checklist above before production, which avoids rejected uploads. Your first creative batch is free. After that, static ads cost $30 and AI video ads $75, delivered in 3 to 5 business days.
To scale, we add fresh videos every week and raise budget on whichever campaign is beating its goal. We do not pause weak ads by hand, because AppLovin's optimizer already cuts their spend. Management is $750 a month per channel plus 2.5% of ad spend, with that fee capped at $25,000 a month. The full service is on our AppLovin agency page.
From our case studies
SP Nutrition sells magnesium gummies. We took the account to $6k a day in spend within 30 days and scaled it to $200k a month at a $40.92 CPA and 1.72x ROAS. Across the $5M+ a month in AppLovin spend we manage, our lowest CPA is $10.33, average ROAS is 1.86x and our fastest scale to $10k a day took 7 days.
Questions about AppLovin for supplement brands
Do AppLovin ads work for supplement brands?
Supplements are one of the better-documented categories on AppLovin. AppLovin's beta data showed its top 15 supplement advertisers averaging a 4.63% click-through rate, and Fairing's survey data ranked food, beverage and supplements first for customers crediting mobile game ads. Results still depend on offer, creative volume and margin, so we model your break-even CPA before spending.
What daily budget should a supplement brand start with?
We recommend about $500 a day per campaign, which matches AppLovin's own onboarding guide. Most brands launch one cost-per-purchaser campaign and one ROAS campaign, so plan for roughly $1,000 a day across both during the first weeks. Lower budgets can run, since AppLovin's minimum is $10 a day, but the algorithm learns more slowly and results take longer to read.
Can we run before-and-after or weight-loss creative on AppLovin?
Only with care. AppLovin bans before-and-after imagery that shows unlikely or extreme results and bars ads that promote unrealistic weight loss. It also blocks medical claims and any copy that implies the viewer has a health condition. We steer weight-management brands toward routine, ingredient and taste-led creative, and we check every script against the policy before production.
Should a subscription supplement brand bid on ROAS or cost per purchaser?
Usually both at first. A cost-per-purchaser campaign suits subscription brands because each new subscriber is worth more than the first order shows. A ROAS campaign keeps revenue efficiency in check. AppLovin's beta notes show supplement leaders setting ROAS goals around 50% for this reason. We set the targets from your real retention data, then shift budget to whichever campaign performs.
How many creatives does a supplement brand need for AppLovin?
More than most brands expect. The top supplement advertisers in AppLovin's beta averaged 32 live videos and 10 end cards each. We start with five or six creative sets, then add new videos weekly. Your first batch from Apt is free, and after that statics cost $30 and AI videos $75, with delivery in 3 to 5 business days.
